A New Start

Losing your home in a wildfire or natural disaster is devastating. We will rebuild your home while you focus on rebuilding your life.

Rebuilding your home after a wildfire with PHNX Development is a truly unique experience. PHNX Development is an unprecedented collaborative partnership between architect and builder. We are the only design build team in the state of California specializing in Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction & Component Based Design. Each PHNX home is a Type II non-combustible structure, net-zero, site-built and one of a kind.

With an award-winning design build team, PHNX development has created a streamlined process, inspired by the principles of Trauma Informed Care, that dramatically reduces cost and schedule. This means we help get you in your new home sooner, with a process that is more predictable and easier to understand.

By using cutting edge technology, building innovation and working with a team of trusted vendors, the PHNX team delivers more certainty throughout the entire rebuild process. It is no longer necessary to spend tens of thousands of dollars in fees before knowing how much your new home is going to cost.

Peace of Mind

Say goodbye to your electric bills, not your home.

After moving into a PHNX fire resistant home, the real peace of mind sets in. All PHNX homes are built with non-combustible structural materials that don’t burn, and every home is designed to Net Zero Energy specifications per California Building Code, Title 24 Part 6. PHNX homes provide clean indoor air that is heated and cooled effortlessly to regulate a comfortable, healthy living environment for you and your loved ones.

Not only will you say goodbye to your electric bill, but the next time you get an evacuation order you won’t have to say goodbye to your home.

A PHNX home is non-combustible. Built with Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction and steel, it is permitted as a Type II Non-Combustible, fire-resistant structure in full compliance with California and International building codes. Your new PHNX home retains its structural integrity and will not ignite even in a raging wildfire.

A Tesla photovoltaic array sized sufficiently to power your entire home is included in the cost of every PHNX home. State-of-the-art, all-electric appliances mean no costly gas hook-ups and no gas bills. Even our water heaters and clothes dryers use the latest heat pump technology, and are more efficient than their gas counterparts.

A PHNX home includes a fully zoned, ducted mini-split heating and cooling system. The temperature of each room can be individually controlled and maintained simultaneously.

From aluminum-clad wood windows to brand-name appliances, plumbing fixtures and equipment, a PHNX home is built to last – and we stand behind it.

PHNX specifications include brands like General Electric, Kohler, Mitsubishi, Tesla, Sierra Pacific Windows, Viewrail Stair Systems, iSpan Composite Joist Systems, All-Weather Insulated Panels, Fox Blocks ICF, AO Smith, and Philips, just to name a few.

Unprecedented Innovation

The design and construction industry hasn’t changed much in 40 years, and the current wildfire crisis has exposed its weaknesses. Thousands of homeowners are waiting three to four years to move into their new homes – if they can even afford to rebuild at all. Only after spending tens of thousands of dollars in fees will fire survivors see the true cost of their home for the first time. We are here to change that!

The award-winning team at PHNX Development has taken design/build into the 21st century. For the first time, architect and builder innovate together. Inspired by principles of Trauma Informed Care, they have streamlined the design and construction process, making the path to your new home more accessible and easier to understand.

Insulated Concrete Forms

Component Based Design utilizes fast and efficient building processes and materials that are adaptable and innovative. All of the structural elements in a PHNX Home are comprised of proprietary, engineered systems. Wild fluctuations in material and labor costs that plague traditional builds are much less of a factor in the PHNX process.

Composite steel joist system

The simplicity of the PHNX Home structural design means that everything is faster, from design, to plan check and construction. There are less complex structural calculations, fewer site inspections and no special inspections to slow down the process.

Architect & builder innovate together

Architect and builder work together to provide you with easy but versatile design choices that make sense for both aesthetics and budget. The latest in Building Information Management (BIM) technology enables us to transition seamlessly from design documents and budgeting, to construction documents and permitting.
